Director's Message

Hi!  I‘m Amy Posner and I am so happy to welcome you to our wonderful Jewish sleepaway camp…Camp Edward Isaacs!   If you are looking for an extraordinarily fun, especially warm and caring kosher summer camp that nurtures Jewish values, builds independence, and grows lasting friendships, you will find it all at “Eddie I”!

Summer 2005 was bursting at the seams with campers who enthusiastically enjoyed everyday swimming, sports, arts n crafts, nature, boating, aerobics, archery, drama, music, Jewish culture, Israel fun, and more!  Exciting trips, overnights, meaningful Shabbat services and creative special programs rounded out a busy summer of laughter and good times.

Camp Edward Isaacs is a beautiful place to spend the summer.  Tucked in a quiet valley, surrounded by trees, Eddie I’s green playing fields, cool swimming pool and clean private lake make it the perfect children’s camp.  Our campers come from all over metropolitan New York, Long Island, New Jersey, Westchester and Dutchess counties, Florida, Oregon, and other states, too.  We are proud to be an international camp, campers and staff from Israel, France, Argentina and more.

Summer 2006 promises to be spectacular!  With just 200 campers, each camper is a unique member of our camp community.  We really get to know each other, and that is why Eddie I is a special summer family.  Our excellent, experienced staff is committed to making sure that every camper has a safe and super summer.  We are planning terrific trips and engaging everyday activities.  We will be adding some challenging new things to our ropes course and some cool new stuff to our lake!  More exciting surprises are in store, and we hope that you will join us!

If you are interested in learning more about Camp Edward Isaacs, please contact me at the Central Queens YM-YWHA, (718) 268-5011, or email me at director@campedi.com.  Feel free to fill out the CD\Video Request Form to get a free copy of our CD and screensaver, or request a video.

I will be happy to answer your questions and discuss why Eddie I is your best choice for Jewish summer camp!

Shalom,

 Amy

A summer at Camp Edward Isaacs helps children learn to love the outdoors, appreciate their surroundings, develop self-esteem, enhance their skills in the arts and sports and make friendships that last a lifetime.

Only 70 minutes north of the Central Queens YM-YWHA (located in Forest Hills, New York), campers and parents take comfort in knowing that they are not too far from home. With a camper capacity of 200, and a camper to staff ratio of 4 to 1, each camper is given the quality and individual attention and supervision they deserve. Camp Edward Isaacs has been providing campers with a safe, nurturing Jewish camp experience for 40 years.

Campers engage in mountain biking, nature hikes, singing, dancing, archery, arts and crafts. They swim in our Olympic size pool and boat, fish and use Surfbikes on our private lake. Our program is well-structured and designed to help each campers discover and advance within his or her own personal interests, and it also teaches the importance of group living and togetherness as they travel together as a bunk and unit.

Come and discover why Camp Edward Isaacs is…"The Sleepaway Camp that's Close to Home....and close to the heart of generations of campers."
